Kristen is a prose writer, poet, and theatre artist, though her main medium of expression is directing theatre. Professionally, she has taught acting classes at FIT as well as directed Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead with the FIT Theatre Ensemble, and has worked as a teaching artist facilitating creative writing and poetry slam workshops around New York State. She has directed several shows with her nonprofit theatre company, including Fool for Love, Cyrano de Bergerac and the most recent, a collaboration with Circus Book: The Poets Were Liars. She has also performed (Charlotte in Beyond Therapy and Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream) She holds a BA in Theatre and a BA in English from SUNY Oneonta, and an MA in Educational Theatre and English from New York University. She is interested in immersive theatre, as well as the ways in which performance poetry, creative nonfiction, and theatre can be combined.
